Parts work also known as internal family systems is a non-pathologizing evidence-based psychotherapy modality. Our work together will involve identifying and understanding your parts - many of which operate as various defense mechanisms that may have served you in the past, but may not be serving you now. We will also integrate the parts of you that have been exiled, forgotten or suppressed. These are typically the parts that hold attachment wounds, trauma, shame or grief. We may also discover unexpected emotional affects or physical sensations in the body that seek release in order to heal. 

My goal is to help you build both self compassion and distress tolerance skills so that you can be responsive to your own emotional needs. I will help you reach a place where you feel confident in your ability to regulate your emotions, understand and accept yourself. 

In addition to parts work I incorporate a number of other approaches including cognitive behavioral, attachment informed interventions, somatic and relational therapy.
